In Memoriam: Ileana Posada Shaner

Our friend and board member, Ileana Posada Shaner, passed into the light on February 25, 2023.

She excelled in creating beauty in her life and in her living. As a gifted and intuitive musician, a practitioner of the moving arts of Ki Aikido and Yoga, and as a person of spiritual presence and power, Ileana sought love in action.

And as many of us know, she gave tender, intentional focus to her myriad and varied projects, friends, colleagues, and students all over the world. She served us and the world as an artist, mentor, mother, sister, teacher, board member, citizen, advocate, and lover.

Ileana embraced and supported the work of My Neighbor’s Voice because listening is an act of love. She was the catalyst and inspiration for our next project: Bilingual Listening Cards: La voz demi vecino. The translation has just been completed by Leesa Bolón Brotherton, and the Cards will be piloted beginning in April. Thanks to Ileana.

She will be missed and she will be remembered by the entire My Neighbor’s Voice Community.

Deep gratitude to the following who donated to My Neighbor’s Voice in memory of Ileana:
